• Hong Kong Association for Scientific Study of Mental Handicap: è stato nominato tra • Una Task Force nazionale sulla Sindrome di Down finalizzata allo studio delle correlazioni psico- neuro-immuno-endocrinologiche della Sindrome di Down e delle possibili implicanze terapeutiche. • Una Task Force per il miglioramento e l’aggiornamento della cartella orientata per problemi e computerizzata, per la quale è stato invitato a New York, nel gennaio 1992. • Comitato Direttivo della European Association of Mental Health in Mental Retardation, associazione europea che si occupa dei problemi inerenti la salute mentale delle persone con ritardo mentale. Da settembre 2003, ricopre la carica di vice presidente. Ha inoltre fatto parte del Comitato Scientifico deI Convegni internazionali dell’Associazione, svoltisi a Londra nel 1999, a Berlino nel 2001, a Roma nel 2003. • Comitato Direttivo della Early Intervention Society • Membro dell’ International Association for Scientific Study of Intellectual Disabilities, oltre alle due Società nelle quali è nel Comitato Direttivo • American Association on Mental Retardation, importantissima associazione sui problemi del ritardo mentale, della Società per lo studio del Movimento in Clinica • European Association for Movement Analysis in Children ed è molto attiva la collaborazione con il Dott. Patrick che da anni si occupa di Gait Analysis • International Association for Scientific Studies on Developmental Disabilities, nell’ambito della quale fa parte, in maniera attiva, di due Special Interest Group sull’”AGING” e sui problemi del “PHYSICAL HEALTH” nelle persone con Ritardo Mentale. Dal novembre 1995 Centro di Riferimento della Regione Lazio per la
NEURORIABILITAZIONE, in particolare per le “paratetraplegie acquisite e congenite”.
Ha eseguito diversi stage presso: Università di Notthingam, Università di Malaga,
Washington University, University of Minnesota, Harvard Medical School, American
Association of Mental Deficiency in Washington.
Ha collaborato con l’Università di Colonia nell’ambito del progetto TEMPUS per lo
svolgimento di attività formativa.
PREMI E ONOREFICENZE:

Ha ricevuto il premio della Fondazione “Pio Manzù” con medaglia d’oro della
Presidenza del Consiglio 1998
