So if your child has any white clothing items (i.e. white shirts) please allow them to wear them tomorrow instead of the school uniform. Let’s show our support for our All Whites whether they win, draw or lose against Paraguay tonight. Farewell to Mrs Swann It is with sadness that we announce Cara Swann has tendered her resignation as a teacher at Chaucer School to take up a teaching position at an international school in Singapore. Cara’s last day at Chaucer will be on Friday 2nd July, the last day of this term. We wish Cara luck with her new teaching position and thank her for work with, and dedication to the children in Room 10 over the last 18 months. I am delighted to announce that we have recruited an excellent teacher to replace Cara for terms 3 and 4 in Room 10. Jenny Bennett is returning to New Zealand after teaching in the United Kingdom and at an international school in the United Arab Emirates. Jenny is an experienced teacher who has strengths in drama, music and Te Reo. We look forward to her arrival at Chaucer. Bowling Centre car park Thank you to all those parents who are not using this car park next to our soccer field when the yellow cones are placed out. This enables us to use that car park as a playground when our fields are too wet in the winter terms. P.T.R.A news Wow, what a huge turnout to our Disco. It was a great success and we would like to thank all those parent helpers on the night, and a big thank you to Mr White and Jane Woodill for taking the time to come and join the fun and help with the cleanup, we appreciate it. Hopefully we will have another disco towards the end of the year. We are having our last sausage sizzle for the term on Monday 28th of June, forms will go home this week and orders need to be in by 9.00am Monday morning. We have changed the day because lunch orders are going so well at the moment and the children are enjoying the menu. Thank you to all those parents and teachers who have bought the Entertainment books. The school holidays are approaching and we still have a few books left so get in quick if you would like one. They have some great savings on school holiday activities in them. Please come in and browse the display book by the office. Have a safe and happy school holidays from the Chaucer PTRA team. School Uniforms If parents could ensure that your child’s school uniform items are named. This makes it much easier to return lost items to the owner. Strategic Plan community consultation questionnaires Thank you to all parents who have completed these and returned them to the school office. Please could you compete this questionnaire and return them to Chaucer school before Friday 2nd July. Thank you School closes early next Friday at 2.00pm The end of the school term is Friday 2nd July and school will close at 2.00pm on that day.
