Rick and Laura met in Chicago where they both performed at THE SECOND CITY. Since then they have gotten married, had two children together, and moved to Los Angeles. There they continue to perform, both separately and together. Laura is probably best known as the improvisational pianist on television's WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY. She was also on the DREW CAREY SHOW live episodes, and has toured the country doing live performances with DREW CAREY AND THE IMPROV ALLSTARS. Laura combines her music and faith in two CDs of original Contemporary Christian music, A WOMAN OF FAITH and ALL IN GOD'S GOOD TIME. Laura has toured the country performing at churches, concerts, and regional events, both alone and with Rick. She feels blessed to have sung at the Mix in '06, the Disciples of Christ General Assembly in 2007 and 2009, the 2009 Northern CA Regional Assembly, and the 2010 Women's Quadrennial, where one of her compositions was chosen as the theme song. Laura's latest project is her new band with Kelly Macleod, THE SWEET POTATOES. They have recently finished their first CD. Laura has written music for several independent films, including the score for SLICE OF PIE, a romantic comedy written by and starring Rick. She also scored an award winning documentary, SWIMMING IN AUSCHWITZ, and a romantic comedy, ANATOMY OF A BREAKUP. Rick has been seen on many television shows including CURB YOUR ENTHUSIAM, SAVING GRACE, FACTORY, 24, ACCORDING TO JIM, SEINFELD, and THE MIDDLE. He's also been in films, including MY FELLOW AMERICANS, THE THING CALLED LOVE, and THREE FUGITIVES. And he has been seen in commercials for AT&T, Claritin, Chase Bank, Jimmy Dean Sausage, Volkswagen (currently running on networks) and many more. Rick's true passion is writing and telling stories about growing up on a farm in Central Illinois. He has recorded an audio book CD of several stories and has turned one story, SLICE OF PIE, into a short film, which he shot on location in his hometown of Carrollton, Illinois. The film has enjoyed a successful run of the film festival circuit, winning numerous awards. Rick is currently working on developing it into a television series. Rick also wrote a one man show, PIGBOY, which was chosen for the HBO Comedy Art Festival in Aspen, and enjoyed successful runs in Los Angeles, Chicago, and a tour of the Midwest. In recent years, Rick has returned to the Midwest to perform on stage in Chicago Shakespeare productions of THE SECOND CITY'S ROMEO AND JULIET and the lead role of A FLEA IN HER EAR. Kelly Macleod was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana and has spent the last 20 years in L.A. After moving to the west coast, she recorded two albums with Warner Brothers, which were produced by Eddie Van Halen. She was the lead singer for the band, PRIVATE LIFE, which opened for Van Halen's OU812 Tour, as well as the Eddie Money Tour. Kelly made her acting debut in SLICE OF PIE. During the making of the film, Rick suggested that Kelly and Laura collaborate on some songwriting. The result was their new band and CD, THE SWEET POTATOES.
